I started dating a guy, and we clicked right away. He was in UP, Ballia, but when he came back, we met and enjoyed the time we spent together. After two months, just before his birthday, his naani passed away suddenly, so he had to go back to UP on the day of his birthday. I did everything I could to make his birthday special I gave him gifts I knew he wanted and fed underprivileged kids on his behalf. After he went to UP, things were fine for a while, but by the end of August, he started acting strangely. He began ignoring me and my calls, always saying he was busy.
One night, I called him out of intuition, and his line was busy. He claimed he was talking to his dad, but his dad never calls at that time or for that long. When I asked for a screenshot, he couldn’t provide one and eventually confessed he was talking to another girl and had no feelings left for me. I was shocked and asked him why he did this. He said love marriages weren’t allowed in his family, and the girl he was talking to had been arranged for him by his family. He claimed he couldn’t help it.
He then gave more reasons, saying he thought I was still in love with my ex and that everything I did for him was fake. He said he was afraid I might cheat on him or leave him. A week after the breakup, I found out everything he told me that his family chose a girl for him and all the other excuses was a lie. He even had his mom lie to me. I spent a week thinking I wasn’t enough, but the truth is, he had started dating a Bengali girl and just wanted me to believe he couldn’t do anything because of his family. He lied about everything, even the name of the girl he gave me was false.
Now I know he only used me emotionally because he was alone until he found a better option. If you ever see this and realize it’s you, know that I would have never cheated on you because I know what it feels like to be cheated on. I really loved you, and I hope one day you realize that your lies and insecurities broke the heart of someone who genuinely cared for and loved you.
