The Unexpected Message from My Ex That Might Ruined My Life

I’m an average looking, but well educated girl. I met this guy during my postgraduate studies; he was my senior who messaged me one day. It was an instant connection between two introverts. He cared a lot about me, and after a year of chatting around the clock, we became emotionally dependent on each other. We shared many common interests but never crossed any boundaries. It was a good friendship-until it slowly began to change. After two years, I developed feelings for him, and he started to chat with me in the same affectionate manner, but we never confessed our feelings.

One day, I couldn’t hold back anymore and confessed my love for him. After that, he went silent for three months. I thought maybe he didn’t like me that way, so I kept my silence. Then, out of the blue, he started chatting with me again. He told me he was into another girl, but it wasn’t working out because of family issues. He showed me her pictures, and it hurt like hell. Yet, I was mature enough to handle myself and consoled him, telling him everything would be fine. He asked me if I loved him, and I told him it was over.

Four months later, the chatting resumed, and he managed to make me vulnerable again, leading me to confess my feelings once more. But, once again, he vanished from my life, shattering my heart. After two months, I heard he got engaged and married a stunning, wealthy girl. That was the last straw; I deleted everything that reminded me of him.

Fast forward six months, I finally moved on, and God blessed me with an amazing husband-good-looking, mature, and well-connected. We got married after knowing each other, and for the past two years, we’ve been living a wonderful life. Both personally and professionally, we have a great social image, and everyone loves us. It’s the fairytale every girl dreams of.

But now, out of nowhere, my ex-friend has started texting me again. I replied to his general concerns but tried to avoid deeper conversations. Yet, he keeps trying to worm his way back into my life. He’s even befriended my husband, who knows everything I shared about my past before our marriage. It’s incredibly awkward.

We’ve been trying to avoid him, but he keeps coming back, finding ways to insert himself into our lives. Why can’t he just leave us alone? It’s infuriating!
