We became friends in our second semester at university and grew really close. At the start of the 4th semester, I confessed my feelings for her. She didn’t reject me outright but said she didn’t want a relationship. However, she asked all sorts of couple-related questions about the future and began acting like a couple, even though she insisted we were just friends.
We had our share of arguments, but I always did my best to fix things, and we would eventually reconcile because I couldn’t bear the thought of losing her. I went above and beyond in love; some days, I wouldn’t even have money for lunch, but I’d borrow from friends to make sure she didn’t have to pay, even though she never asked. This isn’t just a love story; if she’s Laila, then I’m Majnu.
Recently, after returning from a university trip, she wasn’t speaking to me. I was upset and didn’t talk to her either. It wasn’t a major fight, but I tried to speak with her the next day. However, she didn’t communicate properly, and it’s been two months since then. We’re also on summer vacation, and she just says she needs a break.
She’s interning at my friend’s father’s company, which I helped her secure. A few days ago, I went to her workplace with a letter and a card to tell her how much she means to me. She reacted by calling me a psycho for showing up at her workplace unannounced, even though I only asked the receptionist to hand over the note.
We were very close, and the only thing missing was a formal title for our relationship. She had even told her parents about me, and they thought she liked me too. Now, she says she will never marry me. I’m currently blocked, and she says she will discuss the situation when the university reopens and our 7th semester starts. I don’t know what to do.
