It’s never easy to express your feelings when going through a tough phase in life. Sometimes, in the process, you lose the most precious things you have. Getting married at the age of 36, which is still considered a blased topic in India, I had always longed for a life partner who would understand and trust me, no matter the situation. But just a year into my marriage, everything changed in an instant, leaving a deep scar on my married life.
In 2024, we were blessed with a child, and my marriage was happy and harmonious-until my husband found a six-year-old letter hidden in one of my books. That discovery shattered his trust in me. The constant allegations of hiding my past have not only broken him but are also breaking me every single moment. Living apart because of his overseas work, I hear his pain and distrust in every conversation, and the guilt is unbearable.
To make things worse, someone from my past-a hypocrite- decided to interfere. After my husband found him on social media, this person filled his head with lles, claiming I was unfaithful and incapable of maintaining relationships. This man has ruined my self-worth, career, and family. Just because he’s unhappy and miserable in his own life, what gives him the right to destroy mine?
But I refuse to let my past define me or break me. My self-esteem has grown stronger because I am a wife and a mother, and my willpower is unshakable. Everyone needs to be cautious of people like this-those who let their negativity poison your present and destroy your peace of mind.
Stay strong, no matter what. The stronger the winds, the stronger the situation. You never know when the winds will change direction and engulf those with ill intentions. Stay aware of such negativity, and never let it take away your peace or your strength.
