How My Married Neighbor Asked Me to Marry Her

Listen, you won’t believe this. I had this bizarre experience with my next-door neighbor, a married woman, when I first moved in. I was just a young guy, a 22-year-old aspiring artist, still finding my way in life. She was around 30, married, and insanely cultured, you know? Deep into art and literature – basically, everything that gets me going too.

So one day, I’m struggling with this massive canvas in my apartment, and she just walks over and offers to help. We end up spending the entire day together, chatting about art, philosophy, life -you name it. I mean, it felt like we’d known each other forever. Everything clicked like magic.

Pretty soon, we were practically inseparable. Our bond grew stronger with every coffee chat and late-night discussion. I won’t lieĀ  I was starting to feel something for her. But hey, I’m not the kind to break up marriages. I kept it respectful, you know? I didn’t want to mess things up for her.

But get this – her husband notices this new positive vibe in her, and he’s actually cool with it! Like, he sees how happy she is after our conversations and doesn’t mind our little ‘friendship’. Wild, right?

Eventually, I had to move on new career -opportunities and all. But we didn’t stop talking. Our bond didn’t just fade with distance. We kept up online – late-night chats, updates on our lives, new art projects. It was like we were still next door.

And then, out of nowhere, she drops this bombshell: “I want to marry you.” So now I’m left sitting here, mind blown, asking myself – should I actually consider this? She’s -30, married, and here I am, a 22-year-old guy whose only crime was being a good friend.
