I’m 30, and after a tough breakup, I joined a dating app, not really looking for anything serious-just a distraction. I met this girl who seemed perfect-funny, easy to talk to, and we had deep conversations. She didn’t have a profile picture but said she’d share it if she liked me later. I agreed, and we kept chatting.
For weeks, things were normal, but eventually, our chats started getting more intimate. The more we talked, the more I felt like I was falling for her. After a while, I asked her for a picture, and finally, she agreed. That’s when everything changed.
She’s actually my younger sister’s best friend. She’s the same age as my sister, and both are 10 years younger than me. I’ve known her since we were kids and even played together when we were younger. I’m pretty sure she gave a fake age because my dating profile is set to show only people within 2 years younger than me.
I didn’t recognize her earlier because we never shared numbers, only talked on Google chats, so her voice didn’t give it away.
Now, I’m stuck. She has no idea who I am. This all happened yesterday, and I haven’t responded to her yet. I don’t know how to feel about having intimate conversations with someone I’ve known for so long and who’s 10 years younger than me.
I’m confused and don’t know what to do next.
